The Town of Palm Beach United Way Nettie Finkle Award is an annual award that honors an individual who exemplifies volunteerism and whose commitment to bringing hope, promise and opportunity into the lives of others has left a lasting, positive impact on a person, group or community at large.

All Town of Palm Beach United Way nonprofit partner agencies are eligible to nominate a volunteer.

The Town of Palm Beach United Way congratulates Eddie Rhodes, recipient of the 2023 Nettie Finkle Award for outstanding volunteer service. Mr. Rhodes has been a volunteer mentor at Take Stock in Children since 2011 and a pillar of society in the Belle Glade and Pahokee region for many years.

History

Nettie Finkle was an outstanding member of the Palm Beach community and an exceptional volunteer for several charitable organizations. Her 75 years of community service, across states and continents, demonstrated that people all over the world are concerned with the needs of their neighbors.  She helped those less fortunate through her extraordinary leadership, generosity and integrity.
