Donors came through for United Way of Palm Beach toy drive | Editorial

Each year, the Town of Palm Beach United Way and their many community partners sponsor a toy drive to benefit children and teenagers who otherwise might have a much bleaker holiday season.

The drive is a cause that resonates with many in Palm Beach, an island where abundance is a part of daily life.

So many people in Palm Beach have the resources to make a difference when it comes to charitable giving — and the toy drive offers an opportunity to brighten the faces of children in need.

The outpouring of toys, other gifts and cash was especially abundant this year for the 32nd edition of the drive. In all, the effort collected $28,941 and thousands of toys and other gifts. The drive launched Nov. 9 and ran through Dec. 7.
