Building Better Readers recruits, trains, places and supports 150 to 250 volunteers to provide one-on-one tutoring in reading comprehension. Sessions take place in the classroom,  twice a week, for 30 minutes each, resulting in a minimum of 1 hour a week after school tutoring.

Literacy Coalition’s family literacy programs, Glades Family Education and Village Readers, provide instruction for preschool-aged children to build strong school readiness skills, and for elementary-aged children to develop literacy skills. Children receive the help they need to succeed academically while parents develop their own language and literacy skills to support their children.
