The Literacy Coalition is a not-for-profit organization committed to ensuring that every resident of Palm Beach County, Florida is able to read. The agency provides adult and children’s literacy programs in Palm Beach County to help our community continue to grow their literacy skills. Programs are offered countywide from Jupiter to Boca Raton to Belle Glade providing literacy skills to children, adults, and families.

2026-2027 United Way Funded Programs
With the goal of helping children in Palm Beach County to become proficient readers, setting them up for long-term success in education, Building Better Readers recruits, trains, places and supports volunteer tutors to provide one-on-one literacy tutoring for children in first through fourth grade.
Literacy Coalition’s family literacy programs, Glades Family Education and Village Readers, provide instruction for preschool-aged children to build strong school readiness skills and tutoring for elementary-aged children to develop literacy skills to succeed academically, while helping parents develop their own language and literacy skills to support their children.
The Literacy AmeriCorps program recruits, trains and supervises AmeriCorps members to serve in Title I Palm Beach County schools as graduation coaches and mentors to students needing additional assistance in order to graduate.
