AVDA’s Casa Vegso Transitional Housing (TH) meets the needs of traditionally underserved populations living in PBC and experiencing domestic violence (DV) by providing eight units of low barrier transitional housing for survivors of domestic violence and their children to reside for up to two years. While living in transitional housing, survivors have access to voluntary, survivor-centered services, including Anne’s STEPS (Support, Training, and Education for Personal Success) economic empowerment program to help victims move toward economic self-sufficiency and financial independence; a Health & Wellness Initiative that offers on site classes in yoga, fitness, nutrition, and meditation; and a comprehensive children’s program that provides art, music, tutoring, and developmentally focused activities for children in transitional housing.
AVDA's Extended Shelter provides safe housing, food, and comprehensive supportive services to victims of domestic violence who have extenuating circumstances that require an extended length of stay beyond the six weeks in AVDA's emergency shelter to move into violence-free living.
AVDA's Outreach program is comprised of supportive services for survivors and community-based prevention. Trauma-informed, empowerment-based services include individual and group support, legal advocacy, financial literacy, and safety planning. Prevention programming offers age-appropriate education for youth and adults to improve community response and reduce the occurrence of domestic violence.
